Mumbai: Even as tech insiders are advising potential buyers to refrain from buying a new smartphone till Samsung Galaxy S9 is launched, a retail box of the much awaited gadget has added to the anxiety of phone lovers.
According to the leaked specifications on the now viral retail package, Samsung S9 offers quite a few new features along with wireless charging. However what can impressing the smartphone lovers is its camera.
The leak mentions “super slow-mo” video, and rumors has it that the phone will be able to capture video at 1,000 frames per second - a nice step up from the Galaxy S8, which maxed out at 240 frames per second.
Another popular rumor is that the Galaxy S9 could offer something called “dual aperture.” Aperture refers to the size of the opening that light passes through.
Offering two different apertures at f/1.5 and f/2.4 (as listed on the leaked box) would make it possible to take in extra light in darker settings. In better lighting, the second aperture would offer a better depth of field, making it possible to keep more objects a wider range of distance in focus at the same time.
In terms of processor, Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor or the company’s own Exynos 9810 processor. Customers in India will get the Exynos version.

Though Samsung has not officially confirmed when the Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus will be launched, specualtions are rife that the two phones will be launched at Mobile World Congress (MWC) to be held in Barcelona in the last week of February, 2018.

There's no word yet on pricing for the Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus. If anything like the S8, expect handsets to fetch around USD946 and USD1070.
