UPSC Civil Services Main Examination 2018: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released on its website upsc.gov.in the Detailed Application Form (DAF) for Civil Services Main Examination 2018 on Monday July 23, 2018.
The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has also asked the candidates who have cleared Civil Services Prelims Examination 2018 to fill up the Civil Services Main Examination 2018 Detailed Application Form (DAF) on or before August 06, 2018 upto 06:00 pm.
"The qualified candidate seeking admission to the Civil Services (Main) Examination must apply online through the Commission’s website (www.upsc.gov.in) by filling the Detailed Application Form (DAF) and uploading the scanned copies of the required document within the prescribed time limit so that DAF is submitted by the applicant on time. However, the OBC (non-creamy layer) candidates will be required to fill the OBC Annexure alongwith the Detailed Application Form, on line", the UPSC notification says.

- Click on 'Login' button.
- Follow the instruction to fill up the Civil Services Main DAF 2018.
"The Civil Services Main Examination in the scheme of the Civil Services Examination, 2018 for the services and posts mentioned in preamble to the Rules will be held from 28th September, 2018. The detailed Time Table of Examination will be made available along with the e-Admit Card", the UPSC notification says.
The Main Examination will be held in Ahmedabad, Aizawl, Allahabad, Bengaluru, Bhopal, Chandigarh, Chennai, Cuttack, Dehradun, Delhi, Dispur (Guwahati), Hyderabad, Jaipur, Jammu, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Patna, Raipur, Ranchi, Shillong, Shimla, Thiruvananthapuram and Vijayawada.
"The Civil Services Exam Centres and the dates of holding the Main Examination as mentioned above are liable to be changed at the discretion of the Commission. While every effort will be made to allot the candidate to the Centre of his choice, the Commission may, at their discretion allot a different Centre or a new Centre that may be opened when circumstances so warrant", the UPSC says.
The competitive examination comprises two successive stages. One Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination (Objective Type) for the selection of candidates for Main Examination, and Second, Civil Services (Main) Examination (Written and Interview) for the selection of candidates for the various Services and posts.
The UPSC Preliminary Examination consisted of two papers of Objective type (multiple choice questions) carrying a maximum of 400 marks in the subjects set out in sub-section (A) of Section II. This examination is meant to serve as a screening test only.
The marks obtained in the Preliminary Examination by the candidates who are declared qualified for admission to the Main Examination will not be counted for determining their final order of merit. The number of candidates to be admitted to the Main Examination will be about twelve to thirteen times the total approximate number of vacancies to be filled in the year through this examination.
Only those candidates who are declared by the Commission to have qualified in the Preliminary Examination in the year are eligible for admission to the Main Examination of that year provided they are otherwise eligible for admission, to the Main Examination.
The UPSC Civil Services Prelims exam was codnucted on June 03, 2018. The UPSC had declared the Civil Services Prelims Result 2018 on July 14.
