Hajj 2018 Flight Schedule: The Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony of Pakistan on Monday said that the first Hajj flight from Pakistan will depart to Madinah on July 14 and with that will start the one month long pre-Hajj flight operation of Government Hajj Scheme.
The Ministry said Hajj flights by Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) will depart to Saudi Arabia starting July 14 from five embarkation points including Peshawar, Islamabad, Lahore, Sukkur and Karachi.
"Haj operation would continue till August 15, 2018. Initially the flights would depart to Madinah in the first 15 days of month-long flight operation. Whereas in the last 15 days, the Haj flights would depart from Islamabad to Jeddah", the Ministry said.

The Ministry said he first Hajj flight would depart to Saudi Arabia from Karachi and Islamabad international airports on July 14, 2108. The first Haj flight from Jinnah International Airport Karachi will depart at 02:25 am whereas the first Haj flight from the Islamabad International Airport will depart at 07:00 am.
The first Hajj flight from Multan airport will be on July 15 and from Faislabad airport will be on July 17, 2018, the Ministry said.
The return of pilgrims will initiate from 28th August. The Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony of Pakistan also informs pilgrims about their flight schedule and status via SMS sent to their registered phone numbers.
A total of 179,210 Pakistanis would perform Haj this year. Out of them 119,473 would perform Haj under Government Haj Scheme, while 59,737 Pakistanis would perform Haj through private Haj scheme. Two per cent hardship quota of total seats of Government Haj Scheme has been reserved for broken families, newly born infant cases and applicants belonging to the far flung/rural areas.
Likewise, 500 seats have been reserved for low paid employees. Labourers of public sector, corporate organisations, companies registered with Employees Old age Benefits Institutions (EOBI)/Workers Welfare Fund sponsored by their respective organisations under their corporate social responsibility, according to The Nation.
The Saudi governement allots quota to different countries base on their Muslim population. India in the neighborhood of Pakistan has been alloted a quota of 170,525 pilgrims.
Coinciding with Eid al Adha, Haj is the annual ritual to commemorate the sacrifices made by Prophet Ibrahim, his wife Hager and his son Prophet Ismael. The likely date of Wuqoof e Arafat - the key ritual of the Hajj, is August 20 or 19. As the Islamic calendar is based on sighting of moon, the final date will be decided once the new moon of the month of Dhul Hijjah is sighted. Last year, Wuqoof-e-Arafat was on August 31, 2017.
Meanwhile, King Abdulaziz International Airport’s Hajj terminal in Jeddah and Prince Muhammad International Airport in Madinah have completed all preparations for receiving pilgrims who will start arriving at these airports from 1st Dhul Qadah 1439H, the first day of the Hajj season of 2018.
Upon arrival at the terminal, officials from the Ministry of Health will receive pilgrims and give them necessary health guidelines and services, and then they will proceed to the Passport Control to complete immigration procedures.
