New Delhi: The Indian Railways will recruit 20,000 more people, in addition to filling up 90,000 vacancies announced earlier, Union Railway Minister Piyush Goyal said Thursday.
The available vacancies have now been increased to 1,10,000 from previously 90,000, he said in a tweet. "110,000 jobs in Railways for youth: One of the world's biggest recruitment drive gets even bigger," Goyal wrote on twitter.

The minister said there was a total of 9,000 job vacancies in the Railway Police Force (RPF) and Railway Protection Special Force (RPSF) and more than 10,000 other additional jobs up for grabs. The notification for RPF and RPSF will be published in the month of May 2018.
The last date to apply remains March 31, 2018. The Railway Recruitment Boards (RRB) has not yet announced the date of examination. However, it said the exam will be online computer based.
More than 02.5 crore job seekers have so far applied for some 01 lakh RRB Group D vacancies, the Indian Railways said even as three days are still remaining for the online registration to end.
Coming after a gap of four years, the Railway Recruitment Boards (RRB) online exam will be held for about 90,000 posts in group C and group D and for 9,500 openings in the Railway Protection Force. For assistant loco pilots and technicians alone, over 50 lakh online applications have been received, the official said.
There are 26,502 loco pilot and technicians posts and 62,907 Group D posts open for recruitment.
The last date to apply for exactly 62,907 RRB CEN 02/2018 Group D posts in level 1 of 7th CPC pay matrix was set as March 12, 2018. It was however later extended to March 31.The date of exam is yet to be announced.
The Railway Recruitment Boards (RRB) exam will be Computer based test (CBT) and it will contain questions on reasoning, aptitude and skills. On the basis of the computer-based test, the candidates will be shortlisted for the next stage of the recruitment process.

RRB CEN 02/2018 Group D posts include Track Maintainer grade IV (Trackman), Gateman, Pointsman, Helpers in Electrical/ Mechanical/ Signal & Telecommunication departments, porter, etc.
Railway Group- D Eligibility Criteria 2018
The candidates who are applying for this job must have passed 10th Class or ITI from the institutions recognized by NCVT/SCVT or equivalent (or) National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) granted by NCVT.
OR
10th Pass plus National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) granted by NCVT or 10th pass plus ITI from the institutions recognized by NCVT/SCVT.
The candidates who fulfill the eligibility criteria of the Group- D Recruitment 2018 are eligible to apply for Group-D Posts. The Railway Department do not check the eligibility criteria at the time of the examination. Document to prove the eligibility will be required at the time of the document verification.
Age Limit
Candidates, who have cleared class 10th with (or without) ITI or NAC in the relevant trade, must be under the age limit between 18 years to 31 years as on 01.07.2018. Relaxation in the upper age limit will be applicable for the Reserved Category students. The details regarding the Relaxation criteria will be notified of the detailed version of RRB CEN 02/2018.
Medical Standards and Suitability for PWD
The candidates must make sure that they satisfy the medical standards for the CEN02/2018 Post. For the candidates who are PWD, must check the posts that are eligible for PWD.
Salary Structure of Group- D Posts 2018
The salary structure of the Group- D Posts is Rs 18,000/- (Level-1 of CPC Pay Matrix).
Application Fee
The application fee of the form is Rs 250/- for ST/SC/Ex-S/PWD/Female/Transgender/Minorities/Economically Backward Classes. Other candidates excluding the above categories will be charged Rs 500/- as the application fee. The payment for the application fee can be done online (Net Banking/Credit Card/Debit Card) or SBI Bank Challan or Post Office Bank Challan. The deadlines for the fee payment are different for different modes.
Exam Pattern
A computer-based test will be organized for the selection of the candidates for the Group- D Posts. The date and time of the computer-based tests have not been released yet. It will be announced soon.
The exam will be Computer based test (CBT) and it will contain questions on reasoning, aptitude and skills. On the basis of the computer-based test, the candidates will be shortlisted for the next stage of the recruitment process. The level of the exam completely depends upon the educational qualification of the candidates.
