Chennai: The Walt Disney Company is planning to roll out Disney Plus (Disney +) in India by May 2020,
Disney has a big role in the streaming video service market, and Disney Plus will be available on any internet-connected screen.
Disney Plus has been rolled in the US market last week. On the eve of its launch, reports claimed that Disney Plus reached to sign up 10 million users.
Disney Plus will be launched with Star India Hotstar along with Disney Plus Catalogue even in South Asian markets such as Indonesia and Malaysia very soon.
In the Indian subcontinent, Hotsar that has many Disney content on its subscription catalogue will foray into the Indian market now, however, Hotstar has not revealed the date of screaming the video service market.
Disney+ will enter home viewers with movies and shows from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, National Geographic and many more. Disney Plus will offer commercial free-programming with a variety of original feature films, documentaries, live-action, short-form content, and even animation series.
At present, like Hotstar, even MX Player, Jio, Zee5, AltBalaji, and Amazon Prime; Alibaba is planning to roll out the streaming product in India. Currently, Hotstar is in the leading position in the Indian market and Netflix follows the second position. It is heard that even Flipkart too has announced the streaming service in India.
