“Who knows, Sri Lanka Oval might be favorable to us again”, laughs Ross.

Gary Stead, who has been the coach of the team for a long time, believes that Todd Astle can be a real contribution to the team. 2012 match was his first match. The coach is convinced that together with some other players on the team, Astle can bring the team to a victory.

P Sara Oval or Colombo Oval?

P Sara Oval stadium used to be called Colombo Oval. It is actually a home stadium of the national cricket team where the first test was hosted by Sri Lanka in 1982. Only in 1985 the host team managed to win for the first time. It was a great achievement on a national level.

Today, the stadium hosts international matches from all over the world. The ground has a break for about eight years. From 1994 to 2002 there were no matches. Only in 2002, the first test was played on P Sara Oval. Cricket teams say P Sara Oval is one of the best stadiums to play on. Despite not being new, the stadium is in good hands and is constantly upgraded for the match players.

Looking Forward to New Zealand vs Sri Lanka Match

Cricket matches have become a popular national event. People buy tickets for various matches far in advance. It is a great privilege to become a witness to amazing victories.
