UPSC Civil Services Main Exam 2019: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) Friday started conducting from Friday September 20 Civil Services Main 2019 exams. The coveted exams however ran into a controversy on the next day of exam.
According to a number of messages posted on micro blogging site Twitter, candidates were up for a schock Saturday September 21, when they saw the question paper.
"UPSC asks in today's Civil Service Examination, "What are the challenges to our cultural practices in the name of secularism?", Ajmal Aramam, who uses Twitter handler @AjmalAramam, wrote.
"Fall of the great Indian Civil Service. This is how they make an RSS bureaucracy", he added, tagging the pics of the question paper and highlighting the controversial quesion.
The UPSC asked the candidates to answer the above question in 150 words.
Criticsing the UPSC, another candidates said "secularism" is a positive concept and has helped in promoting "scientific temper against superstitions and harmful practices."
"Indian secularism is a positive concept, taking along and encouraging all the cultural practices while instilling a scientific temper against superstitions and harmful practices.", would have been the first sentence of my answer! Kannan Gopinathan wrote @naukarshah on Twitter.

According to the UPSC Civil Services Main, also known as UPSC IAS Mains and UPSC CSE Mains 2019, Time Table, the exam has started on Friday September 20 and will continue till September 29, 2019.
The civil services examination is conducted annually by the UPSC in three stages -- preliminary, main and interview -- to select officers for Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS) and Indian Police Service (IPS), among others.
