Ahmedabad (Gujarat): The Gujarat government in co-ordination with the Central machineries is busy preparing for a grand welcome when US President Donald Trump visits Ahmedabad later this month.

According to the reports, the government is moblising around half a million people along the route of Ahmedabad Airport to the City to welcome Trump.

The government has also engaged a massive workforce for what it calls as the "beautification and cleanliness" drive ahead of Trump's visit to Ahmedabad.

Part of this "beautification and cleanliness" drive is also construction of a 400-meter-long and seven-feet-high wall, according to officials. More than 150 masons are working round the clock to build this wall.

However, contradicting the official version, the contradctor said the wall is actually built to hide the slums along the route.

Talking to news agency Reuters the contractor said the government "did not want the slum to be seen" when Trump passes by on the ride in from Ahmedabad Airport.

"I’ve been ordered to build a wall as soon as possible, over 150 masons are working round-the-clock to finish the project," the contractor said, speaking on condition of anonymity.

Besides the road show, Trump will also inaugurate along with PM Modi the newly built Motera Stadium in Ahmedabad. The stadium has the capacity of around 110,000 people - making it the world's largest cricket stadium.

A mega event titled as "Kem Cho, Trump!", the India version of "Howdy, Modi!" held in Houston, is also planned after the inauguration of the stadium.

Trump is visiting India on February 24-25 amidst widespread protests all across India against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), National Register of Citizens (NRC) and National Population Register (NPR).
