New Delhi: Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) MP Amol Kolhe’s poem ‘Yeh Desh, Desh Rehna Chaihye’ recited in the Lok Sabha Friday February 02, 2024 during the Parliament’s Budget Session has gone viral.
The Lok Sabha listened with apt silence as Amol Kolhe, recited his insightful poem in his beautiful voice while participating in the debate on President’s address to the Joint Session of the Parliament.
The actor-turned-politician, Amol Kolhe, is the Member of Lok Sabha from Shirur Parliamentary Constituency of Maharashtra.
In about 03-minute poem full of satire and derision along with heart-touching appeal, Amol Kolhe unveils the feelings of an 'Andh Bhakt' upon whom are revealed the hard realities of today’s India as he climbs the stairs of Ram Mandir recently inaugurated in Ayodhya.
In his mesmerizing poetic rendering, Amol Kolhe beautifully summarizes the euphoria surrounding the inauguration of the Ram Mandir, and also the controversies, then goes on to expose the Narendra Modi government’s failure on all fronts - including inflation, unemployment, (mis)use of ED and other agencies, the biased role of media, government's love for few industrialists, and above all the divisive politics of the ruling party.
