Hajj 2024: The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, Saudi Arabia has launched Digital Identity (ID) Platform ‘Absher’ for the pilgrims who are arriving in the Kingdom for the Hajj 2024.
According to the Islamic Calendar noting, Hajj ritual this year will begin on Friday 08 Dhul Hijjah, corresponding to June 14, 2024, and culminate on Wednesday 14 Dhul Hijjah, corresponding to June 19, 2024.
It should however be noted that the final and confirmed date of Eid al Adha 2024 and Arafat Day 2024 (Youm ul Hajj 2024) will be confirmed only on 29th of Dhu al Qadah 1445 AH after sighting of the New Moon of the month of Dhul Hijjah.
The pilgrims from around the world however have started arriving for the annual pilgrimage to Makkah, and to make their Hajj Journey an experience of the lifetime Saudi Arabia has announced various measures, including introduction of Digital Identity Service Absher for this year’s Hajj.
Hajj Digital ID Services has been developed in collaboration with the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Haj and Umrah, as well as the Saudi Data and AI Authority (SDAIA), according to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
The service allows Hajj pilgrims to electronically verify their identity through the Absher and Tawakkalna platforms to streamline their journey, enhance the quality of services provided to them, and improve their experience.
The national identity service for pilgrims aims to maintain high standards and keep pace with digital transformation advancements in Kingdom services.
Hajj pilgrims should note that the authorities have made the process of creating Hajj Digital ID as simple as possible.
Pilgrims should also note that generating one Hajj ID will be enough for one person to easily gain access to almost every sacred place.
