

UGC NET June 2026: The National Testing Agency (NTA) Friday August 28, 2026 announced the UGC NET June 2026 Results of the 84 of the total 87 subjects for which the exams were held.
The National Testing Agency (NTA) had conducted the UGC-NET June 2026 in CBT mode on 22, 23, 24, 25, 29, 30 June 2026 and 05 July 2026 across 655 examination centres in 286 cities across the country for a total of 87 subjects.
The NTA however cancelled the UGC NET Exams of 03 subjects - English, Commerce and Sociology, and announced re-exams following “several complaints” it received.
Hence, the results of English, Commerce and Sociology were withheld.
As per the UGC NET June 2026 result announced today, a total of 7.73,806 candidates had registered for the exams held for 84 subjects. Of them 6,07,151 had appeared in the exams.
A total of 4,241 candidates qualified for JRF and Assistant Professor, 45,904 candidates qualified for Assistant Professor and Admission to Ph. D and 97,434 candidates qualified for Ph.D., the UGC NET June 2026 result data released by the NTA revealed.
The NTA has been entrusted by the University Grants Commission (UGC) with the task of conducting UGC-NET, which is a test to determine the eligibility of Indian nationals for ‘Assistant Professor’ and ‘Junior Research Fellowship and Assistant Professor’ in Indian universities and colleges.
The UGC provide Research Fellowships for research under expert guidance of faculty members/scientists working in University Departments/ National Laboratories and Institutions in various fields of Science and interdisciplinary areas of research.
The National Testing Agency (NTA) conducted UGC – NET June 2026 for ‘Junior Research Fellowship’ and eligibility for ‘Assistant Professor’ in 87 subjects in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode. After conducting the exam, the NTA released on August 16, 2026 the Provisional Answer Key, and on August 28, 2026 the Final Answer Keys of UGC NET June 2026 exams.
