Islam and Terrorism

For years, superpowers in the world oppressed the poor and weaker countries in the world and interfered in the internal matters of other countries for their own personal interests. They used the blackmailing tactics to pressurize the government opposed to them. Otherwise they sent their secret agents to the countries not relenting to their selfish interests for encouraging the rebellion in a country, provided arms and funds to rebel groups and overthrew the rulers against their interests. After failing in all these, they even masterminded the killing of the rulers not bowing to their demands. These are not just allegations but one can easily find many incidences that prove these shameful acts perpetrated by the superpowers in many years. Right from China, Guatemala and Vietnam to the invasion of Afghanistan and Iraq and from alleged killings of King Faisal, Ziyaul Haq and Yasser Arafat are all examples of these atrocities.

All this happened while the whole world was divided in two groups led by a superpower each. But situation changed very quickly after the disintegration of Soviet Union. US secret agents reportedly masterminded the disintegration of Soviet, and to achieve this aided and trained several groups for fighting against communism. These groups were in power in most of the states full of natural resources and earlier ruled by Soviet Union. Now the US wanted its share from these groups. To its surprise and dismay these groups denied becoming US puppets and agents. When all its attempts failed US started its own blackmailing tactics once again. But these groups equipped and trained by US itself started retaliating the lone superpower. It was definitely not acceptable to US.

There is no doubt that Osama Ben Laden, now 'a dreaded TERRORIST' was a 'HERO' and 'MUJAHID' when he was fighting for US in Afghanistan against the Soviet forces and he had in fact received his entire military training from US and played a major role for defeating the Soviet forces in Afghanistan. The war in Afghanistan proved very costly for Soviet Union and it ultimately ended in disintegration.

Islam was cleverly linked to terrorism and Muslims who denied becoming their agents, became TERRORISTS. The Muslims who were termed “HEROES” and “MUJAHEDIN” since decades became TERRORISTS overnight. The beard of a Muslim became symbol of TERROR. And then starts a long and bloody carnage against Islam and Muslim states, whose only sin is that they are not ready to bow down to their inhuman and unjustified demands. They are not ready to compromise with their identity. They are not ready to let the killers and looters unpunished. They are not ready to let the injustice go unnoticed.

The Islamic regulations and the laws, which guaranteed protection for everyone in a society, is now the target along with the Muslim Ummah. Those living in glass houses are targeting Islam and bombarding its followers. Those who are exploiting the women and the womanhood since centuries question the women’s rights in Islam. Those who are crossing all the limits of inhumanity are speaking of human rights in Islam. Those who are spreading injustice around the globe are asking for justice in Islam. Those who are keeping the world-peace at stake by their inhuman and unjust attitude are talking of Islam as a religion against peace. Those who are terrorizing the whole world by their terrorism are claiming Islam as a religion of terrorism.

Propaganda apart, no one has till now now proved any Islamic rule and recommendation, as inhuman and the examples of justice and peace the Muslim Rulers had set during their tenures, can still work as a guiding lights for many.

Islam has always preached its follower for restrain and forgiveness. The Holy Qur’aan says:

The Holy Qur’aan is filled with the verses preaching for justice, kindness and liberty. It further says:

The Holy Qur'aan reiterates again:

Rulers after rulers demonstrated how, by following the rules described in the Holy Qur’aan, one could create a peaceful and just society. One of the many incidents during the Prophet’s time will demonstrate how justice prevailed in the Islamic society.

The Prophet encouraged everyone for justice by announcing Allah’s reward for the people promoting justice. He said:

It was the teaching of Islam, which produced personalities like Abu Bakra, Umar Farouque, Usman Ghani and Ali (Ridhwanulllaho Ta’ala Unhum Ajma’een). The world cannot show any Umar Farouque in their history who when became caliph used to walk the whole night on the streets of Madinah searching if anyone is needy and hungry in his state. He once took his own wife to help a woman deliver her child. Once during his daily march he found someone hungry. He brought the food grains immediately and prepared the food by his own hands. Still, he was afraid of Allah lest He asks him about the people in his state on the day of justice, Qi’yamah.

These are the teachings of Islam and these are the personalities exemplified to the world by Islam. Still, if someone targets Islam and Muslims by unjustified and baseless remarks then one can only say:

“You can fool all the People for sometimes

You can fool some people all the time

But you cannot fool all the people all the time”
