hopes peace will prevail after Ayodhya verdict

India Inc Thursday hoped that peace would continue to prevail and
normal life will not be disrupted in the wake of the Allahabad
High Court ruling on the Ayodhya dispute.
"Following the ruling by the Allahabad High Court we hope that
peace and order would be maintained and no disruption would be
caused to normal life and business would continue uninterrupted,"
said Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) president Hari S.
Bhartia.
"We welcome that a legal process is being followed to arrive at a
resolution of the Ayodhya issue," he added.
Hoping for peace to prevail, the leading industry lobbies termed
the judgment on the Ayodhya land dispute suit as a victory for all
parties and appealed for peace.
"The verdict is a win-win for all individuals in the case. Of
course, the legal possibilities are open to all," said D.S. Rawat,
secretary general of the Associated Chambers of Commerce and
India.
"Our chamber expresses confidence that no anti-national element
will disrupt peace and communal harmony," he said in a statement,
soon after the three judges of the Lucknow bench of the Allahabad
High Court gave the verdict - a majority ruling of the three-judge
bench said the site would be divided into three parts: one for the
Muslims, one for the Hindus and the third for the Nirmohi Akhara.
Rajan Bharti Mittal, president, FICCI said people across the
country need to keep calm and continue with their active
professional lives.
"FICCI feels that any wide-scale disturbance will jeopardise
economic growth, inclusion, poverty eradication and calibrated
globalization," he said.
Attendance in a host of offices was thin across the country with
most managements declaring Thursday a half-day, ahead of the
Ayodhya land dispute verdict. Some firms even declared a holiday.
