Malegaon:
The District Magistrate of Kishanganj in Bihar on December 30 has
arranged a special ceremony to formally handover the land for the
establishment of AMU centre in the state.
AMU VC is visiting Kishanganj to
attend the official ceremony being arranged by the Kishanganj
District Magistrate. He will receive the land records of the site
being given to the AMU for establishing the AMU Centre at
Kishanganj.
The Bihar
government has offered 250 acres of contiguous land for the centre,
becoming the third such
state after Kerala and West Bengal.
The Bihar government has identified the land in Kishanganj
district, along the highway to Bahadurganj.
The other two states on the AMU's list
are Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra. While the Madhya Pradesh
government has no interest in the project, Maharashtra is yet to
take any decision.
On October 26 this year, the AMU
team led by VC Prof Azis had visited two locations in Maharashtra - one in
Malegaon and the other in Khuldabad identified for
the purpose.
