Cairo: Twitter was agog
Sunday about a wedding that is to take place at Cairo's downtown Tahrir Square.
"As crowds fill Tahrir news comes that a WEDDING will be held in
the center of the protests - a kaatib kitaab,", said a tweet on
BBC.
A few minutes later, another tweet said: "More now on that wedding
in Tahrir Square. It's the talk of Twitter today, and a photo is
circulating of a happy couple in front of a tank. The BBC is
trying verify whether this is the same couple who are rumoured to
be tying the knot today."
Tahrir square is the epicentre of massive protests that are taking
place against Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak to end his 30-year
rule. The protests began Jan 25 and entered their 13th day Sunday.
