New Delhi: The 24-hour
channel of the Rajya Sabha will be launched during the monsoon
session, Deputy Chairman K. Rahman Khan said Saturday.
Preparations for the launch of the channel were in full swing and
it is likely to be launched around Independence Day (Aug 15), he
said in an interview telecast on state broadcaster Doordarshan.
"The studios, technical staff recruitment and programming models
are progressing on schedule," Khan said.
When parliament is not in session, the channel would telecast
programmes related to democratic values and institutions targeted
at the younger generation, he added.
