Mumbai: Noisy scenes
were witnessed in the Legislative Council today over a purported
statement, published in a newspaper, by Pune-based stud farm owner
Hasan Ali, that he used money of bureaucrats and three former
chief ministers for investing in the stock markets between 1990
and 2000.
Leader of Opposition in the Council, Pandurang Phundkar raised the
issue in the House by showing a copy of the newspaper featuring an
article on Hasan Ali.
"Ali has said that he routed the money of three former chief
ministers through hawala and invested them in the share markets.
The government must explain who these chief ministers are,"
Phundkar said.
Quoting Ali he said that 'between 1990 and 2000 a lot of black
money found way in the share market and he put the money of
politicians, bureaucrats and the chief ministers in there.
