AIEEE exam delayed after paper leak

Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh police Monday claimed that the kingpin of the gang involved in the leakage of the All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE) question paper was from Jaunpur in the state and also has bases in Mumbai and Ghaziabad.

The other members of the gang are from Bihar and Ahmedabad in Gujarat, Special Director General of Police Brij Lal told reporters here.

The UP Special Task Force (STF) has been conducting raids to nab the leader, he said without disclosing the name.

The start of the nation-wide AIEEE was Sunday delayed by nearly three hours after the paper was allegedly leaked in Uttar Pradesh and sold for Rs.6 lakh each.

"Fresh set of questions were distributed to the students and the exam was delayed by three hours," Central Board of Secondary Examination (CBSE) chairman Vineet Joshi had said in Delhi.
