Ranchi: A tribunal
here Thursday sentenced Jharkhand's Inspector General of Police
Nirmala Chaudhary to 15 days in jail for ordering her bodyguards
to beat up a retired judge in 2008.
The Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) also slapped a fine of
Rs.2,000 each on two policemen involved in the case.
Chaudhary had allegedly misbehaved with retired judge B.V. Rao at
a guest house here and asked her bodyguards to thrash him.
The Supreme Court in August 2008 had asked the CAT, Ranchi, to
take up the case.
