Mumbai: The results of
the Maharashtra Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) were declared
today with the state recording a pass percentage of 70.69 per
cent.
Kolhapur division has topped with 82.55 per cent followed by Pune
(79.32 per cent), Mumbai (77.03 per cent), Nashik (76.90 per
cent), Nagpur (67.13 per cent), Aurangabad (59.30 per cent) and
Latur (56.57 per cent) while the lowest pass percentage has been
recorded in Amravati with 48.80 per cent.
A total of 13,30,101 students had appeared for the HSC exam in the
state out of which 4,35,999 boys (66.39 per cent) and 3,83,503
girls (76.30 per cent) have passed.

Following the announcement by the HSC board that the results would
be declared today, long queues of anxious students and parents
were seen at cyber cafes in the metropolis.
Earlier, Ajula Patil, the
chairperson of the Maharashtra Education Board while announcing
the declaration of the results had said that the mark sheets to
the students would be given on June 6.
