India, Britain discuss science and technology

New Delhi: India and
Britain Friday held discussions to further their cooperation in
science and technology.
Science and Technology Minister Ashwani Kumar held talks with
former British prime minister Gordon Brown on the sidelines of the
Summer Davos conference under way in Dalian, China.
"Discussions were held on collaborative projects in scientific
research, including futuristic and advanced research in
nanotechnology, biotechnology, nuclear safety, material science,
astrophysics and green technologies," said an official statement
issued here.
Britain also offered assistance for facilitating achievement of
universal education targets set by India and the achievement of
millennium development goals, the statement said.
