Hyderabad: Cyberabad
police have arrested a youth from Nepal for raping a five-year-old
girl, the daughter of his neighbour and fellow Nepali, at Madhapur,
the information technology district.
The 21-year-old accused was arrested after the father of the
victim lodged a complaint with Madhapur police station under
Cyberabad police commissionerate.
Both the accused and the victim are from Nepal and working here.
Dhanu Shree, a cook in a restaurant, sexually assaulted the
daughter of his neighbour Padam Bahadur, who was working as a
security guard at Raheja IT Park.
Though the incident took place on Dec 22 in Pathrika Nagar, it
came to light on Monday. The police Tuesday announced the arrest
of the accused. He was produced before a court, which sent him to
judicial custody.
The accused was arrested from Secunderabad police station late
Monday night when he was trying to escape from the city.
According to police, the girl was playing near her house on the
evening of Dec 22 when the accused took her to a nearby place and
raped her.
When her parents returned home, they found her crying. After they
lodged a complaint, police sent the girl to Gandhi Hospital for
medical examination and launched a manhunt for the accused.
