Delhi to get technical varsity for women

New Delhi: The Delhi
government Monday announced that it will set up a technical
university for women here.
"To focus on participation of women engineers in nation-building
and encouraging technical education among women, Women's Technical
University will be set up in the capital," Chief Minister Sheila
Dikshit said after a cabinet meeting.
The existing Indira Gandhi Institute of Technology, which comes
under the Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, will be
upgraded to form the university.
