Osmanabad (Maharashtra): In yet another shocking
incident, similar to the Guwahati molestation case, a teenager in
Maharashtra Saturday died of her burns after she set herself
afire, following persistent harassment by a 22-year-old man,
police said Saturday.
"The victim belonged to a remote village of Gaddevdhari in the
district and was brought to Osmanabad city after she set herself
afire early hours of Friday. She had sustained over 70 percent
burns. She succumbed this afternoon," an official from Osmanabad
rural police station told IANS.
The girl, according to police, was fed up of the harassment by
Lakhan Aadav, also a resident of Gaddevdhari who often teased and
stalked her. Aadav has been arrested.
