Helsinki: A
photograph showing sunset in the Indian capital made it to the
final of an international photo competition organised by Nordic
airline Finnair.
The competition with the theme "This Is Where I'd Rather Be" was
designed to find the best photo that showed a destination best the
passenger carrier flies to. It had attracted 5,800 entries.
"The criteria were that the photos had to be from a Finnair
destination and identifiable as such. We also emphasised our own
'success factors' which are creativity, quality and freshness,"
said Aku Varamäki, social media manager, Finnair.
Though the photo of Delhi taken by Hele from Finland came fourth,
the six-member jury found it to be showcasing the essence of
India.
"Nicely composed...shows Delhi, India, clearly," said Tim Bird,
one of the jury members.
However, the jury voted for the 'Man Mo Temple' photo by Wong Chi
Keung of Hong Kong. "The best! Lovely light and composition,
clearly eastern flavour. This is one I wish I had taken," said
Bird.
Wong won the prize, two return intercontinental tickets to any
Finnair destination. The winning pictures will be exhibited in the
airline's in-flight entertainment systems.
