Aalami Urdu Markaz to hold mushaira on March

Jeddah:
Aalami Urdu Markaz, Jeddah’s
prominent literary organization, will be holding their fifth grand
annual mushaira (poetry gathering) on March 29, a media report
said today.
Urdu poets from Pakistan, North America, Far East, Middle East as
well as from various parts of the Kingdom are to participate,
making it a real “Aalami” (global) event.
“Out annual mushaira is a pivotal part of Jeddah’s literary
culture. Thanks to the support of the Consulate General of
Pakistan, our sponsor and the Pakistan International School,
Aziziyah, the Markaz is holding the event for the fifth
consecutive year,” Saudi English daily Arab News quoted the group’s President Athar Abassi
as saying.
The overseas poets who have
confirmed their participation include, Ifthikar Arif, Anwar Shaoor,
Shajaat Ali Rahi, Liaqat Ali Asim, Tasleem Ilahi Zulfi, Mohsin
Changezi, Shaheen Abbas, Saeed Agha, Abid Ali Beg and Aamer Wasti.
