Moscow: Russian
Muftis, Muslim scholars and political experts from over 20
countries are planning to draft a practical guide to combat
extremism and protect Islamic values.
The document drafted in the two-day conference here will denounce
the use for evil purposes the Islamic terms “jihad” (the struggle
with vices), “takfeer” (the accusation in non-belief) and
“halifat” (the Islamic state system).
“This theological conclusion will have exclusive importance for
Russian and foreign Muslims, because it will be based on the
Islamic legal principle ‘ijma’,” the forum organisers believe.
According to organisers, ordinary believers will be able to use
this new document along with the spiritual leaders of Russian
Muslims.
The spiritual manual should become the support for the prevention
of the ideas of radicalism among the Muslims, the ideological
struggle against extremists and the protection of peace and good
neighbourly relations.
The heads of all central and regional Spiritual Muslim
Directorates, as well as the chief executives from the regions of
the North Caucasus and the Volga River Region were invited to
attend the conference.
The International Union of Islamic Scholars is represented by
Muftis, scientists and spiritual leaders from Kuwait, Lebanon,
Morocco, Yemen, Bahrain, Tunisia, Sudan, Jordan, Chad, Uzbekistan,
Indonesia, Turkey, Iraq, Malaysia and Iran.
The International Centre Al Wasatia (Kuwait), the scientific and
educational centre Al Wasatia – Moderation (Russia) and the
International Union of Islamic Scholars, which brings together
most Islamic scholars, organised the forum.
The Foundation of the Support for the Islamic Culture, Science and
Education and the Ahmat-Khadzhi Kadyrov Foundation assist to the
forum.
