3 AMU students suspended for Sir Syed Day

Mumbai:
Three students of the Aligarh Muslim University have been
suspended from the rolls of the University with immediate effect
pending enquiry. Further, the University and its maintained
institutions have been placed out of bounds for them, according to
the university offcial.
AMU Proctor, Dr. Khursheed A. Khan issued an office memo stating
that Mohd. Nawaz Sharif, BA (F), M. Azam (Class XI) and Iftekhar
Alam Momin (BA Final) after having Sir Syed Day Dinner on October
17, 2012, gathered around University Circle with their motorbikes
composing unlawful assembly and thereby obstructed public road,
causing inconvenience to the general public and threat to public
peace and tranquility, the official said.
Three students in concerted pursuance of their pre-arranged plan
along with their rowdy companions started instigating and
performing stunts publicly by riding on their bikes near
University Circle thereby violating the notified traffic rules, he
added.
The Proctor also mentioned that these students also raised abusive
and derogatory slogans and incited the feelings of hatred against
University and District authorities.
These students along with a large
number of ruffians committed eve-teasing and displayed
disrespectful behavior to women passing through.
