Guwahati:
In a shocking incident,
Fathima Beebi, a four year old Nursery student, was served notice
by a local school to remove the hijab or stop coming to school anymore.
The notice has been issued by the
authorities of the Kristo Jyoti School, Bokakhat in
Golaghat district.
The parent of the student has
approached the court
seeking justice to follow their tradition.
The girl who was
admitted in the school in the month of November in 2012 was asked
by the school authority on March 21 this year not to wear the hijab.
When she disobeyed the authority, the principal Father
Jose Vargsees served a notice to the parents on March 28 to remove
the hijab within 15 days of time or not to come to school.
