New Delhi:
The BJP Wednesday attacked Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit for
sharing the dais with Mohammad Ahmad Kazmi, an accused in the
Israeli embassy car blast.
Dikshit had shared stage with Kazmi during the re-launch ceremony
of Urdu newspaper "Qaumi Salamati" in the capital Tuesday. Kazmi
is the editor of the paper and is on bail.
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Vijay Jolly demanded
explanation from Dikshit whether her Congress-led government has
given a "clean chit" to Kazmi who is involved in the matter which
concerns "nation security".
"This seems to be giving political legitimacy to an accused
charge-sheeted by Delhi Police and Indian intelligence agencies,"
Jolly said here.
"Such actions seem to give protection to the accused and embolden
anti-national elements. And in such a sensitive matter, the people
of the country demand an explanation from Delhi Chief Minister
Dikshit," he demanded.
Tal Yehoshua, wife of the Israeli defence attache here, suffered
multiple injuries Feb 13, 2012 when a motorcycle rider attached a
magnetic explosive device to her car and sped away. Within
seconds, the device exploded, setting the car on fire near the
prime minister's house in central Delhi.
