Govt raises LPG subsidy cap from 6 to 9 cylinders

New Delhi: The Election Commission Thursday gave the government the go ahead to raise the cap on subsidised LPG cylinders from six a year to nine, official sources said here.

The commission had raised objections when Petroleum Minister M. Veerappa Moily had announced the decision in December last year before the Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh elections.
