Malegaon:
Two floors of a mosque which was under renovation collapsed
Wednesday in the afternoon creating panic in this Muslim dominated
town in North Maharashtra.
The incident occurred at Sulaimani
Masjid in Naypura area of the city. The mosque was under renovation since last fortnight.
The two floors collapsed
at around 03:15 in the afternoon.
One person is dead and at
least four others have been injured in the incident.
At least four persons are under the debris while the rescue operation is still on.
Fourteen members of a Tabilighi
Jamaat from Mumbai were inside the mosque at the time of the
tragic incident.
The four injured are two men and
women. They are construction labourers who were working inside the
mosque at the
time of the incident.
The entire fire brigade staff led by
Municipal Commissioner Ajit Jadhav are busy in removing the
debris.
The Community leaders along with
local MLA Mufti Ismael, Corporator Ejaz Umar, Ex Mayor Khalid
Yunus Eisa and others are assisting in the rescue operation.
