Kerala Congress to probe 'false' news about Rahul
Thursday December 11, 2014 10:12 PM, IANS

The Congress party in Kerala has constituted a five-member team to ascertain if any Congress leader was behind a false news that was played up by the print and electronic media when party vice-president Rahul Gandhi was here.

Gandhi was surprised to hear on television Wednesday while waiting at the airport on his return that Chief Minister Oommen Chandy and Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala had complained to him about the style of functioning of state party chief V.M. Sudheeran, said a statement issued by party general secretary Thampanoor Ravi to the press here Thursday.

"As soon as this came to his notice, he asked Sudheeran to issue a denial which the spokesperson of the party Rajmohan Unnithan did," said Ravi.

Since Wednesday morning, the nearly dozen TV channels in the state are having a field day with this 'false' news taking centre-stage.

Ever since Sudheeran took over as the party president in February this year, the media has been playing up that there were serious differences between Sudheeran and Chandy.

The probe team will be headed by state party vice president Laly Vincent.
