
Jeddah: Saudi Arabia's King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud has ordered a grant of $500 million as humanitarian aid for the people of Iraq affected by the ongoing violence, including displaced people, regardless of their religious, doctrinal or ethnic affiliations, media reported Tuesday.
United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-moon has been informed of this aid which will be provided through UN organisations, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.
The Gulf nation will continue these efforts to ensure the delivery of the aid to the affected people from all spectra in Iraq, the report said.
