Support building for Danish Lambe to contest LS poll from Raigad on AAP ticket

Even as the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is yet to declare its official candidate from Raigad in the Konkan region, overwhelming support is building up for Danish Lambe to contest the ensuing Lok Sabha polls on the party ticket.

One of the early activists in the Anna Hazare Movement in Mumbai, Danish Lambe is an entrepreneur in renewable energy resources and Software Industry, and is associated with various social organizations in Mumbai and Raigad. He has worked towards various social activities in for the educational upliftment of the downtrodden especially the youths.

The news that Danish Lambe's name is being considered as the official AAP candidate from Raigad is taking rounds in the entire region since last few days, and it is not only being hailed but people across the board welcome the move and look forward to the final announcement.

But does he really has a chance? ummid.com has spoken to few people who claimed to know him.

"Danish has a proven track record as a social activist. Besides other honours, he was also awarded a Social Award by an NRI-NGO based in Qatar. It is nice to learn that he is willing to contest the forthcoming Lok Sabha polls from Raigad", Dr. Imtiyaz kondkari, a native of Ratnagiri who is the Gen. Secretary of Ideal Education Movement, Mumbai said while talking to ummid.com.

"Known to most of the Konkani people by his social activities, Danish is very humble and caring, and at the same time he is someone who wants to reform whole of the political stage in Konkan", said Dr. Wasim Phoplunkar, a cancer specialist at Dr.L.H.Hiranandani Hospital and honorary consultant at Nair Hospital, Mumbai.

"Danish has been a founder member of Konkan Council and was instrumental in converting it into a common platform for all Konkani's residing in India and abroad", Mustafa Bukhari, Manager Documentation at Jet Airways and Editor of Konkan Tribune, said.

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), it is learnt, has decided to give party tickets to six Muslims in Maharashtra, and Raigad is one of them. Others are Bhiwandi, Malegaon, Sangli, Akola and one in Mumbai.

The party has already declared Sameena Khan as its candidate from Sangli. For other seats, the names are expected to be declared in next few days.
