Dhule: Nandurbar, the tribal district in North Maharashtra, some 90 kms from here, is tense after clashes between two groups of different communities erupted Wednesday.
According to local media persons, the town was tense following the protest by the alleged activists of VHP and Bajrang Dal against slaughter house.
"The VHP and Bajrang Dal were demanding closure of slaughter houses from the administration and had given the ultimatum till Wednesday. Following this the district administration had imposed prohibitory orders.
"However, the alleged activists of the VHP and Bajrang Dal today tried to forcibly close down the slaughter house. This resulted in clashes between the two groups", a local reporter said while talking to ummid.com.
The town now is tense and under heavy police bandobast.
Nandurbar had witnessed communal clashes in September 2011 when a tussle between police and members of a local Ganesh Mandal turned into a communal violence killing one person.
