Mumbai: A delegation of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind (JIH) Maharashtra Friday visited police stations in Mumbai and introduced the basic teachings of Islam to the officials and distributed books, Islamic literatures and copies of the Holy Qur'an to the staff members.
The visit was part of the Jamaat-e-Islami Hind (JIH) Maharashtra's 10-day state wide campaign "Islam for all" launched on Friday with an intention to introduce Islam as a complete way of life to the non-Muslims.
On the first day of the campaign, the Jamaat officials also conducted personal meetings and organized public addresses in various parts of the state.
Iqbal Mulla, senior functionary of the Jamaat-e-Islami Hind also visited Swami Sri Kadshideshwar in Kolhapur and briefed him the basics of Islam and objects of the ongoing campaign "Islam for All".
Besides these, the members of the Jamaat-e-Islami Hind visited educational institutions and other organizations to present Islam.
During the ten-day campaign, the JIH-M plans to conduct public meetings, door to door meetings with Government officials, corporate houses, police and administrative departments in other areas of the state. Apart from these street plays, corner meetings, hospital, jail visits and blood donation camps have also been planned.
The JIHM has also come up with various android mobile apps to make available the information and knowledge about Islam, Quran and prophet Muhammad(pbuh) targeting the young generation. These cost free mobile apps namely, Islam4all, Muhammad4all and Quraan4all may be downloaded from Google play.
Taufique Aslam Khan, President Jamaat-e-Islami Hind Maharashtra while addressing the media at Mumbai Marathi Patrakar Sangh, earlier this week had said, "We want to change the hearts of our fellow countrymen rather than changing their religion, and that we would strive to clear all the misconceptions they harbour about Islam and Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) through this endeavor".
