The DDDIx report, a project by Dr. Abu Saleh Shariff covering over 550 Indian districts, one of the members of the Sachar Committee, is the culmination of 2 years of effort at the US India Policy Institute (USIPI) to create a robust methodology that allows policy initiatives to be focused and outcomes measured down to the district levels for the first time in India.
Addressing on the occasion, the Vice President said that the report is an important work of research and analysis, aimed at increasing socio-economic inclusion and participatory decision-making at grassroots level.
"This exercise aims at assessing and computing the levels of development and equity of access to that development for each district in the country and it will prove to be an effective tool for all stakeholders", the Vice President said in his inaugural address.
He called upon the US India Policy Institute (USIPI) to quantify the need for equal opportunity.
Congratulating Dr. Shariff for his commendable effort, the Vice President said the report will go a long way in facilitating inclusion and addressing issues of discrimination and deprivation in our country.
