Mizoram Governor Aziz Qureshi sacked
Saturday March 28, 2015 9:34 PM, IANS

Mizoram Governor Aziz Qureshi was sacked on Saturday, officials said.

President Pranab Mukherjee directed that "Qureshi shall cease to hold the office of the governor of Mizoram".

Mukherjee also "appointed Keshari Nath Tripathi, governor of West Bengal, to discharge the functions of the governor of Mizoram, in addition to his own duties, until regular arrangements for the office of the Governor of Mizoram are made", an official statement said.

Before Qureshi, the NDA government sacked or made to step down several UPA appointed governors, including Kerala's Sheila Dikshit, Uttar Pradesh's B.L. Joshi and West Bengal's M.K. Narayanan.
