Mumbai: The Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) has not yet officially announced any specific date to declare the results of the HSC (class 12) and SSC (class 10) Supplementary Exams held in July 2016 but informed sources said they could be declared in the next couple of days.
The Maharashtra board conducts Supplementary/Repeater or ATKT Exams for HSC i.e. Class 12 and SSC i.e. Class 10 students who failed in the regular exams held in March/April.
The Supplementary/Repeater or ATKT Exams which were earlier conducted in October were preponed to July to save a year's loss.
The Third and Final Special Round for admission to the First Year Junior College (FYJC) is scheduled to begin on August 25. It is hence most likely that Supplementary/Repeater or ATKT Exams for SSC i.e. Class 10 will be declared in the next few days so that students can take admissions in First Year Junior College (FYJC), Maharashtra board sources said.
The results of the Supplementary/Repeater or ATKT Exams for HSC i.e. Class 12 may be declared later on.
As and when declared, the students will be able to check the HSC (class 12) and SSC (class 10) July 2016 Supplementary Exams results on the official website of the board: www.mahresult.nic.in.
The Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) had called for online applications from the students who wish to appear for the July 2016 Supplementary/Repeaters HSC (Class12)/SSC (Class 10) Examinations from Monday May 30, 2016.
The state board in a notification released on its official website www.mahahsscboard.maharashtra.gov.in said that the online process for the exam to begin from July 09 will start on Monday May 30. The aspiring candidates can apply for the same on or before June 09, 2016.
The students who could not apply before June 09, can still submit the online application from June 10 to June 13 after paying late fees.
The examination to begin from July 09, 2016 is for those students who could not pass the March 2016 exams. The students who want to improve their pass percentage can also appear for this supplementary exam, the notification said.
The students list from all the schools and junior colleges were to submit with the required challan by 17th June.
If there is any problem during the process, the candidates have been advised to contact the divisional board office.
"The supplementary exam will be conducted in July in order to save the academic year of students and the result of the respective exam will be announced next month", the board officials said earlier.
”We are likely to receive around 15,000 applications from both fresh and old repeater candidates every year. The number of the candidates might increase this year due to the increase in pass percentage this year", officials added.
The supplementary exams for students who fail in HSC and SSC board exams were earlier conducted in September-October.
“By this time, admissions to all junior colleges are over and students have to wait until the next academic year to secure admissions,” State Education Minister Vinod Tawade said.
“This leads to a lot of pressure among students who waste an entire academic year. The SSC repeater exam worked well and over 35,000 students have benefitted.
"Hence, we have decided that from academic year 2016-17 the facility will be extended to HSC students too. It will help them to save a year and progress academically,” said Vinod Tawde.
Students will be provided career counselling and it will not be mentioned as ‘failed’ in the marksheets of these students. Instead, it will state – ‘passed for July re-exam’ or ‘passed HSC for career counselling’. Tawde said the immediate re-exam will continue every year.
The Maharashtra board declared the HSC Class 12 results on May 25, 2016. A total of 2016: 13,19,754 students had appeared for the exam held in March. A total of 11,42,882 students cracked the exam whereas 1,76,872 were unlucky to fail.
The Maharashtra board conducts examination twice a year and the number of students appearing for the main examination is around 14 Lacs for HSC and 17 Lac’s SSC, for the supplementary examination around 6 Lacs students are expected HSC and SSC together. There are about 21000 schools (SSC) and 7000 (HSC) Higher Sec. Schools / Jr. colleges in the entire state.
