Maharashtra HSC Class 12 results 2016 declared online, Girls outshine boys once again

The Maharashtra State Board of Secondary & Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) declared online the results of the Class 12 i.e. HSC 2016 exam at the scheduled time today i.e. Wednesday May 25, 2016 at 01:00 pm on its official websites.

According to preliminary analysis of the Maharashtra HSC results, overall pass percentage this year is 86.60% with girls having an edge over boys like previous year.

An estimated 14 lakh students appeared for the HSC examination in which out of nine regional divisions of the Maharashtra Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board, Konkan topped the list for the fifth consecutive year with passing percentage of 93.20 and with Nasik division lagging at 83.89%.

While 83.46% boys were successful, girls outnumbered them with a passing percentage of 90.50.

Pune Divisional Board scored 87.26%, Aurangabad Divisional Board scored 87.80% and Latur scored 86.28 % marks.

Mumbai, that has the highest number of students scored a passing percentage of 86.08.

The Maharashtra board declared the HSC Class 12 results 2016 online on www.mahresult.nic.in. Results are also available on some other websites including the board's mirror sites like result.mkcl.org.

The other websites where the HSC 2016 results can be accessed are http://mh-hsc.ac.in and http://msbshse.ac.in.

The students need to enter their exam seat number and date of birth to see their results. The students will also be able to take the printout from the website.

The Printed Marksheet will be given to students later on at the respective schools.

The students can also request their results through SMS. For this, they are required to type MHHSC followed by <seat no> on their mobile phones and send to: 57766.

The Maharashtra 12th results are announced for over 13 lakh students and it decides in which stream a student will pursue his/her higher education at university level.

The board also has a unique online system for verification of scorecards. Called eMarkSheet, it is a web portal for online verification of statement of marks as well as certificate for SSC (10th) & HSC (12th) for seamless delivery of information/services to its stakeholder like students, colleges, employers etc. in the state of Maharashtra.

The Higher Secondary Certificate Examination (HSC) is conducted by the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary & Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) during the month of February and March through its nine Divisional Boards, which are primarily located at Pune, Mumbai, Nashik, Aurangabad, Kolhapur, Latur, Nagpu, Amravati and Ratnagiri.

The office of the board at present is in Pune.

Last year Maharashtra HSC Class XII results were declared on May 27. According to the board, a total of 12,38,954 students had appeared for the 2015 HSC exams.

The Maharashtra State Board of Secondary & Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) is an autonomous body constituted under the provisions of the Maharashtra Act No. 41 of 1965.
