New Delhi/Sonipat: In another shocking death related to Aadhar card, wife of a Kargil martyr died after a hospital in Sonipat refused her the needed treatment in the absence of the government issued identification document, her son claimed, though the hospital denied the allegation.

Accoring to the son of the deceased woman, he brought her ailing mother to the hospital for the treatment but the hospital refused to treat her as he did not have the original copy of the Aadhar card.

“I brought my mother to the hospital in a serious condition. They asked me to show the Aadhaar card, which I didn’t have. I showed them a copy in my phone and said I will get Aadhaar in an hour or so, meanwhile begin with the treatment but the hospital refused to do so,” he told ANI.

The incident has sent shock waves all across.

“Shocked at the disgusting news. We’ve become so indifferent to human life! These are the kind of things that hit morale of armed forces,” VN Thapar, father of another Kargil martyr Vijayant Thapar, said while talking to ANI.

The hospital authorities however denied the allegation leveled by the victim’s son.

“We never denied them treatment. Please note that he never got the patient to the hospital. We have never stopped any treatment due to Aadhaar card ever,” the hospital said in a statement.

"Aadhaar card is mandatory only for documentation process, not for treatment", the statement said.

The incident occured about two and months after a teenaged girl died in Jharkhand of hunger when her family was denied ration due to lack of Aadhar Card.
