UPSC Combined Defence Services Examination (I) 2016 results released online

New Delhi: The Union Public Service Commission (UOSC) Friday declared the results of the Combined Defence Services Examination (I) 2016 on its official website.

According to the list of successful candidates, a total of 153 men and 46 women have cracked the Combined Defence Services Examination (I) 2016.

While Bandhan Bitan Mukherjee topped the list of successful candidates in men's category, Suman Devi top ranked the women's list containing 46 candidates.

Bhawnani Siddharth Haresh and Pranav M Nair came 2nd and 3rd respectively in men's category whereas Dipansha Tyagi and Aanchal Bhalaik came 2nd and 3rd in women's category.

"Releasing the lists, in order of merit, in respect of 199 (153 Men + 46 Women) candidates who have finally qualified on the basis of the results of the Combined Defence Services Examination (I) - 2016 conducted by the Union Public Service Commission and interviews held by the Services Selection Board of the Ministry of Defence", the UPSC said in a statement.

"The exam and interviews were conducted for admission to the (i) Officers’ Training Academy, Chennai for 105th Short Service Commission Course (for Men); and (ii) 19th Short Service Commission Women (Non-Technical) Course, commencing in April, 2017", it added.

"The list of 105th Short Service Commission Course (for Men) also includes the names of the candidates who were recommended earlier on the basis of the result of the same examination for admission to the Indian Military Academy, Dehradun; Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala and Air Force Academy, Hyderabad (Pre-Flying ) Training Course(s)", the UPSC said.
