Bhopal: A 19-year-old girl, who is preparing for UPSC Civil Services exams and was on her way back from coaching classes, is brutally beaten and raped for four men in the state capital.
What's more horrible is that the Bhopal police dismissed her story as "filmy" when she went to report the incident, and refused to file her complaint.
The incident took place near Habibganj railway station in the city. The girl was reportedly hit by stones, tied up and then dragged to a drain near the railway station, where she was gangraped by the four men.
Acoording to reports, the girl used to take the train for her coaching classes. On Tuesday evening, after her class got over, she was nabbed by a man now identified as Golu Bihari Chadhar - who is out on bail after being charged in her infant daughter's murder case.
Following an altercation, Golu attacked the girl, daughter of a Raliway Police Personnel, with another accused. They raped her for hours and then tied her up and called two other men who also took turns to assault her.
Her parents caught one of the suspects after at least two police stations initially refused to register a complaint.
At the first police station the girl and her parents approached, the officer present allegedly accused her of making up a "filmy" story.
The police have also been accused of keeping the crime under wraps because it took place on a day it was preoccupied with the Madhya Pradesh founding day celebration.
