Mainstreaming Madaris key to empowerment of Muslims: Arshad Mukhtar

Contribution of Indian scholars in the field of Islamic research, mainly the Quran and Sunnah, praised at Mansoora Education Conference; The best of the people in any society are those who are promoting education and research, says Abdullah Dakheel al Jassar

Opening the two day education conference in Mansoora, Malegaon Saturday Arshad Mukhtar emphasized the need to link Madaris with the mainstream education system.

“The route to empowerment of the Indian Muslims goes through linking Madaris with the mainstream education system”, Arshad Mukhtar, President of Jamia Mohammadia Education Society, said in his inaugural address.

Experts, academicians, scholars and thinkers from India and abroad have gathered at Mansoora – the plush educational complex 03 kms from the textile hub Malegaon, to discuss challenges, solutions and importance of linking Madaris to mainstream education.

“It is with this motive that Jamia Mohammadia Education Society has organized this conference. The society believes that outcome of this conference will have a far reaching impact”, Arshad Mukhtar said. said.

Sheikh Abdullah Dakheel Al Jassar while praising the efforts taken by Jamia Mohammadia Education Society in the field of education and research, especially showing to the world a model education system which combines Islamic and Modern Education System, promised to support a dedicated college for research on Quran.

"The best of the people in any society are those who are promoting education and research. And, this is what we have been ordained by our beloved Prophet Mohammed (peace be upon him)", Sheikh Abdullah Dakheel al Jassar said.

Quoting from Quran and Sunnah, Dr Mohammed Ahmed Ash-Shehran highlighted the importance of education and research.

"Ilm - education, knowledge and research, is what we inherited from Prophet Mohammed (peace be upon him). It is to emphasize this fact, the Prophet had called the Ulema - scholars, his true inheritors", Dr Mohammed Ahmed Ash-Shehran said.

Sheikh Abdullah Hussain in his address recalled the contribution of Indian scholars made in the field of Islamic research, mainly the Quran and Sunnah.

"While acquiring the knowledge of Hadees in my college, the name of Shiekh-ul-kul-fil-kul Syed Nazir Hussain Delhvi was there in most of the chains we were taught", he recalled.

In the inaugural program, the girl and boys students of Jamia Mohammadia, Kulliya Aisha Siddiqa, Mohamamdia Tibbiya College, Mansoora Engineering College and other faculties of the campus delivered speeches in Arabic, Urdu and English languages.

The inaugural program ended with vote of thanks by Rashid Arshad Mukhtar.

After the opening of the conference, the guests from Kuwait and India also participated in the inaugural cermonies of newly constructed buildings of Luluwa Yusuf Boodai Polytechnic and Mohammed bin Nasir Al Sayer Islamic Law College.

Jamia Mohammadiya Education Society was established by Maulana Mukhtar Ahemad Nadvi, renowned scholar and author who in the year 1976-77 revised the century-old Madrasa syllabus and established Jamia Mohammadia Mansoora for Boys in 1978 and Kulliya Aisha Siddiqa for Girls after two years. He was the first to introduce a new syllabus embeded with religious and modern and scientific subjects to be taught in these two Madaris.

The Madrasa syllabus revised and introduced by Maulana Mukhtar Ahemad Nadvi proved so instrumental for the students that they soon became eligible for admission to Jamia Islamia Madinah Munawwera in Saudi Arabia. Year 2009 was a landmark year for Jamia Mohammadia Mansoora when 18 of its students ranked from 1st to 18 positionsin the Jamia Islamia Madinah Merit List.

Few years after establishing Jamia Mohammadia Mansoora for Boys and Kulliya Aisha Siddiqa for Girls, Maulana Mukhtar Ahemad Nadvi established Mohammadiya Tibbiya College and Assayer Hospital, which soon became a pioneer and leading name in the field of unani medical system.

Arshad Mukhtar took over the reins of the society after his father Maulana Mukhtar Ahmed's demise in 2007. Taking forward the dream of his father to establish an Education Campus where Islamic and Modern Education systems rule together, he established Maulana Mukhtar Ahemad Nadvi Technical Campus (MMANTC) in June 2010.

Among others who are present in the conference are Former IG Karnataka, U Nisar Ahmed, Syed Ather Delhvi, Maulana Noorul Ain, Member of Rabita Alam-e-Islami Maulana Asa'd Azmi and a number of scholars, experts and delegates from different parts of India.

The conference will end on Sunday.
