The Haj Committee of India will start receiving applications for Haj 2018 from Wednesday November 15, 2017 onwards, the committee said in an official announcement.

The last date to submit the appropriately filled Haj Application Form (HAF) with requisite documents is December 07, 2017, the Haj Committee of India said.

The Haj Committee of India said the Qurrah - draw for selection of Haj pilgrims, will be completed by January first week by the respective state Haj committees.

The first Haj Charter flight will depart from India on July 07, 2018 whereas the first inbound flight from Saudi Arabia to India will be August 24, 2018. "Detailed Haj flight schedule will be released later on", the Haj Committee of India said.

The 2018 Haj Action Plan, and all dates and schedule have been decided keeping in mind the Youme Arafa 2018 - Arafat Day 2018 or the Haj Day 2018 on August 20, 2018 (tentative).

The Haj Committee also said that Haj Application Form HAF) can be downloaded from its website and can also be obtained free of cost from State/Union Territory Haj Committees.

"A booklet containing guidelines and instructions of Haj 2018 will also be provided free of cost", the committee said.

The Haj Committee of India also requested the applicants to read carefully the instructions given in the booklet before filling the Haj Application Forms (HAF).

The Haj Committee of India also said that the applicant should have a machine readable valid Indian International Passport issued on or before November 15, 2017 and valid at least till February 28, 2019.

The Haj Committee of India will accept forms online as well as offilne or in person.

Once the application process starts on November 15, 2017, the Haj Application Form (HAF) can be downloaded by following the steps given as under:

  • Go to Haj Committee of India website by clicking here: www.hajcommittee.gov.in.
  • Search for 'Haj - 2018 Related Downloads' section in the left of the home page
  • Click on 'Download Haj Application Form 2018' link
  • The Haj Appication Form 2018 should appear on your screen in PDF form
  • Fill it, submit it and take a printout for future reference

The government has earlier launched a new trilingual website to provide all information related to Haj and also accept online application forms for the pilgrimage. The information in the website -- www.haj.gov.in -- can be accessed in Urdu, Hindi and English languages.

According to Ministry of Minority Affairs, the website will facilitate online application for Haj apart from giving information about the Ministry of Minority Affairs, Haj Department, rules and regulations of Haj, the Haj Committee of India and private tour operators.

The website also lists the Dos and Don'ts during the Haj and features a short film informing about various aspects of the pilgrimage, he added.
