Kolkata: The West Bengal Board of Primary Education (WBBPE) has released online the notification of the West Bengal Teacher Eligibility Test (WB TET 2017) on its official website. The notification has also been published in various newspapers.
According to the notification released online, the registrtaion process for the West Bengal Teacher Eligibility Test (WB TET 2017) has been started from Tuesday October 10. The last date of registration is October 29.
The education board has not declared any date of the WB TET 2018 to be conducted for about 30,000 posts in the state.
The West Bengal Board of Primary Education (WBBPE) has also made certain changes in the eligibility criteria for WB TET 2017. The candidates should therefore take extra care before applying for the important career exam.
Minimum eligibility conditions
As per the notification, minimum eligibility conditions are given as follows.
- Higher Secondary/Senior Secondary (or its equivalent 10+2) with at least 50% marks and two-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed.)
OR
- Higher secondary/senior secondary (or its equivalent 10+2) with at least 50% marks and four-year bachelor of elementary education (B.El.Ed.)
OR
- Higher secondary/senior secondary (or its equivalent 10+2) with at least 50% marks and a diploma in education (special education) recognised by the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI).
OR
- Graduation and two-year diploma in elementary education (D.El.Ed.)
The candidates belonging to SC, ST, OBC-A, OBC-B and others will be provided 5% relaxation of marks in higher secondary/senior secondary or its equivalent 10+2 exam.
How to Apply for WB TET 2017
Follow the steps given as under to complete your registration before the last date of October 29.

- Click on the link "Online Application for WB TET 2017 (Primary) Classes I-V
- Create User ID and Password entering the details in the form
- Log in using the newly created ID and Password
- Pay the fees
- Download and print the application form with e-paid stamp
Besides, offline mode, candidates can also apply for WBTET 2017 through offline mode.
