Mandi: Prakash Rana, a billionaire living in Saudi Arabia, has filed his nomination as an independent candidate for the upcoming Himachal Pradesh elections. Rana is so certain of his ‘win’ that he sees no competitor against him.
Rana will be contesting in the Vidhan Sabha polls from Joginder Nagar constituency in Mandi district, according to ANI.
He is a diamond merchant and owner of multiple companies in Saudi Arabia.
Listening of his inner conscious and long-awaited dream of serving residents of his native region, Rana is set to contest as an independent candidate in the upcoming state polls.
The 68-member Himachal Pradesh Assembly elections will be held on November 9 and the result will be declared on December 18.
The ruling Congress and BJP are in fierce battle to win the polls in the Hill state.
This is not the first time an NIR (Non Resident Indian) is contesting elections. The last few elections have many NRIs leaving plum jobs to enter politics and contest election what they say to serve people of their homeland.
