Varanasi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be in Varanasi for two days from September 22 to 23 unveiling several infrastructure projects, but it is his scheduled meeting with Muslim women which is creating a buzz in political circle.
According to party sources, on the first day of his visit, Prime Minister Modi is set to hold an interaction with nearly 700 Muslim women in his Lok Sabha constituency. The interaction will take place at Varanasi’s Diesel Locomotive Works (DLW) Ground where he would also felicitate several Madrassa students, as reported by the Financial Express.
On September 23, he will address a gathering of farmers, where he will also distribute loan waiver certificates to them.
During his visit to the city, Modi would also flag-off the third Mahamana Express train in the country from Varanasi to Vadodara. The weekly train will run from Varanasi every Friday and from Vadodara every Wednesday. Travelling at an average speed of 55.7 km/hr it will take 27 hours 30 minutes to cover a distance of 1,531 km.
Prime Minister Modi's interaction with Muslim women is coming about a month after the Supreme Court banned instant or concurrent triple talaq - the issue he is batting since last two years, and recently also raised from the rampart of the Red Fort in his Independence Day speech on August 15.
