Mumbai: Amid nationwide outrage against Kathua, Unnao and rape cases in other parts of the country, the post mortem report of the 10-year-old girl whose dead body was found recently said she was raped, kept captive and tortured before being strangled to death.
Surat police is still waiting for the results of forensic tests to confirm sexual assault but Dr. Ganesh Govekar of the Surat Civil Hospital, where the post-mortem of the minor girl was conducted, shared chilling observations.
“Going by the nature of the injuries, they seem to be caused in the period ranging from one week to one day prior to the recovery of the body, suggesting that the girl might have been held captive, tortured and possibly raped,” news agency PTI quoted Dr. Govekar as saying.
While talking to news agency ANI Dr. Govekar, said, "The girl's body had 86 injury marks including on her private parts. Samples have been taken for forensic test to ascertain whether she was drugged or not."
